The Parenting Network
has a very enthusiastic committee and we are active in a number of areas.
As well as our regular coffee mornings, we also arrange other activities.
For new
mums and mums-to-be we run a “Bumps and Babies” group.
Trips and
events are organized to include school age children and partners, such as
an Easter Egg hunt or a summer barbecue.
Social evenings
for adults (usually in a pub) provide a chance to hold an uninterrupted
conversation!
And at
Christmas we organise a superb party for the children.
Twice a
year we hold a Nearly New Sale of children’s clothes, toys and
equipment. We donate 10% of our profit to local surgeries and clinics in
the form of play equipment.
We arrange
information evenings covering a variety of topics such as breastfeeding,
first aid, meningitis awareness and child development.
At a local
level we lobby businesses to improve their facilities for parents and
children.
And at a
Regional level we are represented on the Maternity Services Liaison
Committee and the Lay Support Group.
So, whether
you work outside the home or are a full time parent, there is something for
you.
